"Y'verechecha - The Lord Bless You"
What can I say? To walk into the arena with ten to twelve thousand pastors and see case after case of my books being opened and everyone picking up one as they entered the arena--that was a blessing. To read Coach Mac's letter inside the front cover --- I was very grateful. Then the worship and program began. After very moving worship (as it always is for me to worship with thousands most of whom were men, and most of them pastors) Max Lucado spoke eloquently and anointed on the glory of God--all to the glory of God. Another brother on the essential nature of the unity of the body.
We took a break, came back and the remainder of the evening was given to the Messianic brother. Jack Hayford very ably introduced that part (he was the "pastor of ceremonies" for the entire event), then Marty Waldman, Jonathan Bernis of Jewish Voice and Eastern European festivals, Bob Cohen head of the MJAA (Messianic Jewish Alliance), Russ Resnik from the Union of MJC (Messianic Jewish Council), Jhan Moskovitz from Jews for Jesus were introduced, some gave powerful testimonies. Joel Chernoff led worship. A group of costumed men dancers were on stage, but dozens of others, mostly from the 200 or so Messianic Jewish brothers, took to the aisles as well and danced. Later Paul Wilbur led worship as well.
The whole evening was an emotional overload for me, what with these men sitting there with book in hand, listening to my esteemed covenant Jewish brothers speaking of their relationship to all of us and saying to us what Joseph said to his brothers, "Come near to us!!" Marty Waldman concluded the evening under his tallit chanting the "Y'verechecha---The Lord bless you". The brother who opened the evening had encouraged everyone to be sure to get this book from Don Finto, then Marty ended the evening saying, "Now go home and read that book and pray for revelation." The Gentile brothers were over and over again that night, the next morning from Coach Mac and others, encouraged to bless and draw close to their Jewish brothers and sisters.
Blessings to all of you.
Don Finto
